Youth Powerboat Certification Class

Student Age: 12+ (no exceptions)

Classes are offered as week-long sessions and follow the same 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM schedule as regular day camp; students need only to take one session of this course for certification!

This is a hands-on, on-the-water course for anyone who wants to learn how to safely operate a small motorboat and improve their boat handling skills. No previous experience is required! The US Coast Guard and the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) have approved this course. An increasing number of states have recognized it as meeting their requirements for a State Boating Education Certificate.

Students will complete written and practical tests. Testing is not required to complete the course; however, it is necessary for those wishing to gain the certification. A US Powerboat Certified Instructor leads the class with a  maximum of 6:1 student to instructor. At the end of the week, students who successfully complete all required material will receive a Safe Powerboat Handling, Safety, and Rescue Boat Handling certification.

Price:$680 (for non-members), 5% discount for COLYC members
